Build Cathedrals, Not Sandcastles
In life, some people build sandcastles, beautiful for a moment, but gone with the next tide. Others choose to build cathedrals. It takes longer. It even costs more. But long after they're gone, the work is still standing.
Steve Jobs once walked into Apple's design studio, looked at the inside of a computer, the part that no customer would ever see, and told his engineers, "Make that beautiful." The engineers laughed and said, "Steve, no one will ever know.” And he said, "I'll know, and one day, so will history." That's the power of building for what lasts.
Did you know it takes about 66 days to build a habit, a good habit or a bad habit? They either crumble like sandcastles or they stand like cathedrals. So this week, if you want to start a lasting habit:
Start Small: One action you can repeat every day
Stay Consistent: Protect the routine until it becomes automatic
Stack It: Tie it to something you already do so it locks in place
Because my friend, habits shape character, and character shapes legacy. And legacy, well, legacy is forever. Built for the century, not for the moment. And watch your life have impact and significance for generations to come.
Have a great week.
